Ghazaleh Bankefors: Reconnecting Across Borders and Decades at EHA 2026
Ghazaleh Bankefors, Global Systems Specialst at Thermo Fisher Scientific, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“One of the nicest surprises this year was reconnecting with a childhood friend after 25 years.
We grew up in the same country, but life took us in very different directions.
About 15 years ago, she moved to Germany and I moved to Sweden — and over the years, we built our lives far apart.
Today, she invited me to EHA 2026 in Stockholm, and after all this time, we finally met again in person.
Seeing each other after so many years felt as if no time had passed at all.
We shared old memories, caught up on where life has taken us, and reflected on how differently our journeys unfolded.
As an extra bonus, it was wonderful to see the exciting work presented by Thermo Fisher Scientific and to learn more about the latest advances in hemato-oncology and Rapid NGS.
And I have to say — I’m really proud of you. Dr. Niloufar Monhasery.”
