“Since 2005, the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation (NNHF) has worked with local partners to strengthen care worldwide, supporting 265 projects across 88 countries to date.
In the first half of 2026, NNHF:
- Added five new projects to its global portfolio.
- Advanced its collaboration with Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) to support stronger policies, diagnosis and access to care across Africa.
- Strengthened local capacity, with 345+ healthcare professionals trained across India, Mozambique and Venezuela, alongside many more activities across countries and regions.
As President of the NNHF, I am proud to see this progress taking shape across our programmes.

Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What does progress look like?
Progress takes many forms: improved diagnosis, stronger care systems, and knowledge and expertise shared across borders.
During the first half of 2026:
Stronger diagnosis and care
In Mozambique, more than 180 healthcare professionals, including laboratory technicians, received haemophilia training, helping strengthen diagnosis, referral pathways and access to multidisciplinary care closer to home for people living with haemophilia.
Stronger systems of care
In Nigeria, the Inherited Blood Disorders Leadership Forum brought together 74 stakeholders and led to the establishment of a Technical Working Group for sickle cell disease, haemophilia and other inherited blood disorders.
Knowledge and expertise shared across borders
Across East Africa, West Francophone Africa, Central America and the Caribbean, Portuguese-speaking Africa and the Vanilla Islands, partners are connecting within their regions to share expertise and strengthen approaches to care.
These examples are only a snapshot of the developments featured in our First-half 2026 Programme Report.”
