Hellen Ishikawa-Ankerhold: PhD and Postdoctoral Positions in Advanced Microscopy and Immunothrombosis at LMU Munich
Hellen Ishikawa-Ankerhold, Private lecturer, Head of Research Group and Head of the Imaging Core Facility at LMU Munich at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“PhD / Postdoctoral Position in Advanced Microscopy and Immunothrombosis – LMU Munich.
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the AG Ishikawa-Ankerhold at LMU University Hospital Munich and become part of the newly established Collaborative Research Center CRC 1784 – InTraC: The Interplay of Thrombosis and Inflammation.
Translating Molecular Mechanisms into Clinical Applications.
Our group investigates the mechanisms underlying immunothrombosis and platelet biology, with a particular focus on understanding dynamic cellular interactions in vivo.
What you will work with:
Our research combines advanced imaging technologies with translational disease models, including:
- Intravital microscopy and 4D in vivo imaging
- Multiphoton and confocal microscopy
- Super-resolution microscopy
- Quantitative and multidimensional image analysis
- Advanced mouse models of thrombosis, inflammation and cardiovascular disease
- Investigation of immune-cell, platelet and vascular interactions in living tissues.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and further develop advanced microscopy approaches, while applying these technologies to important biological questions in immunothrombosis.
Who are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in:
- Microscopy / optical imaging / bioimaging
- Cell biology, molecular biology, immunology or a related field
- Image analysis and quantitative imaging• Cardiovascular biology, thrombosis or inflammation – an advantage, but not essential. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about microscopy and interested in using advanced imaging to answer biological questions.
Why join us?
You will become part of an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment at LMU Munich, embedded within CRC 1784 InTraC and a strong network of basic scientists, clinician-scientists and imaging experts.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in state-of-the-art microscopy while contributing to cutting-edge research at the interface of imaging, immunology, thrombosis and cardiovascular medicine.
Location: LMU University Hospital, Munich, Germany
Lab: AG Ishikawa-Ankerhold
Research environment: CRC 1784 – InTraC.
If you are interested in joining our team as a PhD student or Postdoctoral Researcher, please get in touch with us and share your CV and a short description of your research interests.
