ICMR-NIRBID shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Week 2 – Day 4 Highlights | DHR-Sponsored Training Programme at ICMR-CRMCH, Chandrapur

The ongoing DHR-sponsored 4-week training programme at ICMR-CRMCH, Chandrapur, continued with expert sessions covering therapeutic advances, patient management, and translational research in haemoglobinopathies.

  • Dr. Nita Radhakrishnan, Additional Professor and Head, PGICH, Noida, delivered an insightful online session on Hydroxyurea Therapy for Sickle Cell Disease, discussing current evidence, treatment protocols, and its impact on improving clinical outcomes.
  • Dr. Atish Bakane, Haematologist, Nagpur, conducted comprehensive sessions on Advanced Treatment Strategies for Haemoglobinopathies, including Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT)/Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT), along with evidence-based approaches to Pain Management in Sickle Cell Disease.
  • Dr. Rikesh K. Dubey, SRM University, presented an engaging lecture on Studying Sickle Cell Disease Using Animal Models, highlighting the role of experimental models in advancing our understanding of disease pathophysiology and therapeutic development.

Together, these sessions offered participants valuable insights into the continuum of haemoglobinopathy research—from laboratory models and translational science to advanced clinical management and curative therapies.”

Nita Radhakrishnan, Additional Professor and HOD of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Post Graduate Institute of Child Health, shared ICMR-NIRBID’s post on LinkedIn:

“Precision medicine is redefining hemoglobinopathy care—from optimized hydroxy urea in sickle cell disease to curative HSCT and future targeted therapies.

Happy to contribute”
