John Erbey: Kidney Disfunction as a Cause of Anemia
John Erbey, Chief Executive Officer at Roivios, Ltd., President at 3ive Labs, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“You think anemia and fatigue are blood problems.
Don’t forget the kidney.
The kidney produces erythropoietin (EPO), the signal that tells the body to make red blood cells.
When kidney function declines, EPO production drops.
Red blood cell count falls.
Fatigue follows.
Sometimes the anemia isn’t a primary blood disorder.
It’s a kidney signal.”
