“I saw overnight that Australia is again in urgent need of blood donations.
I know I talk about this a lot. It is a relatively easy thing that many of us can do, but don’t.
Perhaps most are (thankfully) far removed from an experience where you are discussing a potential a blood transfusion?
We all have our own why. I got thinking about mine.
When our premature baby was born, I was totally unaware that I was bleeding internally.
Terrifying, confusing and urgent doesn’t even scratch the surface on this experience.
Now just imagine healthcare teams having to have these urgent conversations with families, if there wasn’t blood actually available in these moments?
