Konrad Zuzda: A Challenging Case of Heparin-Free VV-ECMO for High-Risk Airway Management
Konrad Zuzda, Trainees Committee Member of European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, Researcher PhD Student at Medical University of Warsaw – MUW, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Journal of Clinical Medicine, adding:
“We’ve described a challenging case of heparin-free VV-ECMO for high-risk airway management in advanced laryngeal tumour obstruction.
A 48-hour journey where pre-emptive cannulation under local anesthesia gave us the breathing room to perform a technically demanding tracheostomy safely.
Grateful to our multidisciplinary team for thinking creatively when conventional options simply weren’t viable.”
