Loay Yasser: A Day Among Heroes Living with Hemophilia at the World Hemophilia Day
Loay Yasser, Integrated Strategy Lead at Roche, shared on LinkedIn:
”Today, I stepped into a very different reality!
At the World Hemophilia Day, I wasn’t surrounded by strategies, meetings, or business discussions…
I was surrounded by patients, families, children, and caregivers, living every single day with a condition they never chose and It was humbling!!
In our daily work, being healthy is the norm.
Today, I realized… for many, being healthy is the exception they fight for!
As I walked through that gate the same place where people stopped to take photos..
It hit me with a hard pause..Because beyond that frame, I didn’t just see a moment to capture…
I saw stories of resilience, strength, and silent battles..And one moment stayed with me,Children and families were rushing towards their doctors… not for treatment this time, but to take photos with them.
Smiling. Proud. Grateful!!
It was a powerful reminder that for those patients, doctors are not just healthcare providers they are partners in their journey, a source of hope, and sometimes the reason they keep going.
Children who never knew a life without Hemophilia, Families who carry the weight with unwavering love, Patients who show up every day with courage most of us will never be tested for.
They are the real heroes. The fighters. The invincible.
Moments like this don’t just inspire, they re-anchor purpose!
They remind me why we do what we do…Why ‘patients first’ is not a statement but a responsibility.
Because behind every strategy… there is a life waiting to be changed!”
