Maxime Dely: The True Heroes of Blood Donation Are Them!
Maxime Dely, Sales and Application Specialist in Therapeutic Apheresis and Cell Therapy, shared on LinkedIn:
”The true heroes of blood donation are them.
Not the ones you see in the media.
Not the ones signing the protocols.
But those who, every single day, reach out their hands before we do.
Nurses in blood centers
They’re the ones who welcome, comfort, and explain.
They’re the ones who make sure the donor feels safe and cared for.
And above all, they’re the ones who create that human experience that makes people want to come back and donate again.
Behind every blood bag, every red cell or platelet concentrate, there’s a nurse — someone skilled, caring, and deeply dedicated.
Professionals who master the technical gesture, but also the art of empathy and connection.
They are the faces of donation, the silent ambassadors of transfusion.
And yet, we don’t talk about them enough.
So today, I just want to say thank you.
To all these unsung heroes, women and men, who make every donation, every treatment, every saved life possible.
Without them, there would be no collections.
Without them, no returning donors.
Without them, no transfusion.
And a special shout-out to my friends SandwinePetit-Frere and Jessy Mouna, two passionate professionals from the Paris region – EFS Trinité
Their smiles, kindness, and commitment are the best proof that this profession deserves so much more recognition.
Thank you to all blood collection nurses.
You are truly essential.”
