Monique Gore-Massy: Redefining Lupus Innovation Through Patient Partnership

Monique Gore-Massy, Global Health Advocate and Women’s Health Advocate, Patient Experience Researcher and Health Equity Strategist, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Over the past few weeks, and particularly during Lupus Awareness Month, I joined teams across Novartis to explore how patient experience informs strategic and innovative input in the early stages of lupus treatment development.

What stood out to me most was not only the expertise in the rooms, but the recognition that valuable insight can come from many forms of evidence, including lived experience…

(B/c data doesn’t always account for our intersectionality as people first.

The future of lupus care will be stronger when lived-experience experts (patients) are not simply consulted at the end, but meaningfully engage throughout every stage of the journey, from discovery.

Organizations have a responsibility to cultivate diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise within their own teams, recognizing that the questions we ask, the decisions we make, and the solutions we design are all shaped by the lenses through which we view the world.

Especially thankful for the connection, insight, and shared purpose I experienced alongside Suguna Chunduri,Lindsey Hall, Amanda Seelig Chevalier, Christy Siegel, Floriana Riccio Furnari, Megan Moreland Snyder and our Basel team Adrian von Muralt, M.Sc. Jean-Noel Talabardon, Heike Thomys and Malou Hagen.

I’m grateful for you all!

Stay tuned…….”
