Peter Zdziarski: Increasing Investment Activity, Data Generation, and Implications for Patient Access to Glanzmann Thrombasthenia
Peter Zdziarski, Founder and Marketing Director of Glanzmann Thrombasthenia Advocacy Network, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I always track what’s trending with Glanzmann Thrombasthenia so I can keep our community informed on the latest studies, news, and research.
Lately, a lot of what I’m seeing is centered around multiple companies in the space going public or moving in that direction.
On one side, that’s exciting. More investment can move research forward.
But it can also bring pressure to show growth.
In GT, that can mean more data collection, more sponsored content targeting our community, and stronger attempts to shape the narrative toward the negatives of living with a rare disease.
There’s also the concern around pricing. When new treatments do come, will access be prioritized, or will profits?
Of course, I hope I’m wrong. And I hope to start seeing more stories of patients living, adapting, and succeeding trending again soon for GT.”
