Sankara Nelson Noah II: Investigating the Temporal Dynamics of Platelet – Leukocyte Interactions in Early Sepsis
Sankara Nelson Noah II, Doctoral Candidate at Tübingen University Hospital, Associate Member of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth), IZKF Research Fellowship at University of Tuebingen, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Excited to be here today at the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) 2026 Congress in Paris, where I had the opportunity to present the preliminary findings of my ongoing doctoral research.
Our prospective study investigates the temporal dynamics of platelet – leukocyte interactions in early sepsis and their role in immunothrombosis.
The preliminary results suggest enhanced platelet – leukocyte aggregate formation and increased procoagulant platelet responses from day 3 onwards, providing new insights into the complex interplay between inflammation and coagulation.
It is a privilege to share our work, exchange ideas with experts in the field, and learn from the outstanding research presented throughout the congress.
A heartfelt thank you to my laboratory team at Transfusion Medicine Tübingen (IKET) for the continuous support and, especially, to my mentor, Karina Althaus, whose scientific guidance, invaluable insights, and unwavering encouragement have been instrumental in shaping this work.
Looking forward to the inspiring discussions and the next steps in this research!”
