Shueh Hao Lim: Advancing Multidisciplinary Care for Venous Thromboembolism in Malaysia

Shueh Hao Lim, Honorary Clinical Lecturer at University of Otago, Founder of IR Wellington, Interventional Radiologist at Capital and Coast and Hutt Valley District Health Boards and Te Whatu Ora Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Great to be back in my hometown, Penang!

Last night I had the privilege of speaking at ‘Contemporary Management of Venous Thromboembolism: From DVT to PE” . My talk covered recent advances in DVT treatment and the question we keep coming back to:

When should we intervene?

A big thank you to Emedhealth and Gloria Teh for the kind invitation and for organising such a well-run evening and Inari Medical for supporting the session.

It was a pleasure to share the programme with Dr Lee Tjen Jhung (Island Hospital Penang) . His overview of PE management and recent advances in Malaysia set up a great discussion. Thanks also to our moderators, Dr Kishen Raj Chandra Sakaran (HCTM UKM) and Dr. Eurick Neoh Gleneagles Hospital Penang), for steering a lively and practical Questions and Answers.

It was encouraging to see the progression of VTE management in Malaysia and so much interest in a multidisciplinary approach to VTE across emergency medicine, cardiology, vascular surgery and interventional radiology.

I look forward to continuing these conversations and collaborations.”
