Sophie Rex Christensen: A Milestone That Brings Us Closer to Earlier, Non-Invasive Stroke Detection
Sophie Rex Christensen, Clinical Assistant, PhD student at Region Nordjylland, shared on LinkedIn:
”We’ve now entered the final stretch before the last phase of our pig stroke study.
In March, we will begin the final part of this initial pilot study – an important milestone that brings us closer to understanding new ways to detect stroke.
We are excited to begin exploring the data, with the goal of contributing to earlier detection and improved clinical decision-making.
Ultimately, this research aims to support the development of innovative, non-invasive approaches that could make a meaningful difference for patients and healthcare systems.
A setup of this scale would never have been possible without a strong and dedicated team — and we are fortunate to have exactly that.
A sincere thank you to our great colleagues for being part of this journey and contributing to making it possible: my supervisor Inger Lise Gade from the Department of Hematology, Hans Værum Gram Novrup from the Department of Radiology, Benedict Kjærgaard and Sanne Ross Sørensen from the Biomedical Research Laboratory, and Boris Modrau from the Department of Neurology – bringing together all competencies from Aalborg Universitetshospital.
A huge thank you to the Novo Nordisk Foundation for making this research possible.”
