Harrison.ai just secured its 13th FDA clearance, and this one is a literal life-saver.
They have developed the first AI cleared to triage acute ischemic stroke (tissue injury) on a patient’s very first non-contrast CT scan.
Why this matters?:
In stroke care, ‘time is brain.’
Traditionally, AI needed a second, more complex scan (CTA) to flag a blockage.
By catching signs of injury on the initial ER scan, we’re cutting down the ‘door-to-needle’ time when every second counts toward a patient’s recovery.
This isn’t just about faster tech, it’s about getting clinicians the right data earlier to prevent permanent disability.
Huge win for the team and a massive step forward for emergency radiology.
Those milestones and developments necessitate the integration of AI medical education in our syllabus.”
