Ana Cláudia de Souza: Opening Event for ÁRTEMIS-Brasil, a PROADI-SUS Project

Ana Cláudia de Souza, Board Member of Cerebrovascular Diseases Journal, shared on LinkedIn:

”Opening event for ÁRTEMIS-Brasil, a PROADI-SUS project at Moinhos de Vento Hospital, which seeks to understand the main genetic variants associated with stroke risk and cognitive decline in Brazil.

We brought together 11 centers from the five regions of the country, united by a common purpose: to lay the foundations for precision medicine in stroke, train professionals, strengthen research and care, and expand our national capacity in genomic research.

We also had the honor of welcoming representatives from DECIT/COPP (Simone Nardin Weis, Lucas da Costa) and the Genomas Brasil Program (Graziella Santana Feitosa Figueiredo, Ana Paula Anzolin, PharmD, PhD), key partners in consolidating an agenda that integrates science, innovation, and the strengthening of the SUS.

It was a meeting marked by unity, celebration, art, and science—an energy that perfectly symbolizes the spirit of ÁRTEMIS!

I would like to thank our international partners who participated online, contributing decisively to the project—especially Fanny Elahi, MD, PhD, Karen Orjuela, MD, MSCR, MBA, FAAN, FAHA, and Marios Georgakis.

I would also like to thank the national speakers and major partners of the project, Marcio Dorn, Gisele Sampaio Silva, and Eduardo Zimmer, for their brilliant contributions!

None of this would be possible without a tireless, dedicated, and committed team.

My special thanks to our team: André Anjos, MD, PhD Helena Fussiger Debora Vacaro Fogazzi Diana Alves de Sousa Hellen Freitas Luiza Dittrich Juliana Souza Shayanne Santos Giovana Ventura.

Extended thanks to the PROADI event support and organization team, Aline Kissler, Danielle Padilha, our coordinator, Dani Santos, and superintendent Admilson Reis.

Special thanks to the participating centers that, despite inclement weather, were present and showed the grit, strength, and determination we need to reap great results.

Last but not least, special thanks to my husband Leonardo Augusto Carbonera, who is always present, believing, supporting, and contributing to this project.”
