Benjamin Thoreau։ Highlighting the Burden and Heterogeneity of ILD in ANCA-Associated Vasculitis
Benjamin Thoreau, Hospital Practitioner at CHRU Tours (Hospital), shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Aglaia Chalkia et al, published in American College of Rheumatology:
”Interstitial Lung Disease in ANCA-Associated Vasculitis: A European Multicentre Study
A large retrospective European study highlights the burden and heterogeneity of ILD in AAV:
- 162 MPO-ANCA+ patients (85%)
- AAV-ILD: 76% | Isolated ANCA-ILD: 24%
- UIP most frequent pattern (57%)
- Renal involvement: 73%
Lung function trajectories differed by radiological pattern, with greater annual FVC decline in UIP/NSIP. Age and baseline FVC% independently predicted mortality, while respiratory failure correlated with fibrosis severity and initial FVC.
Important data to better phenotype and stratify prognosis in AAV-ILD.”
