Title: Covid and Our Arteries
Authors: Eric Topol

A new report highlights Covid-19’s impact on accelerated arterial aging, adding to its previously known effects on endothelial inflammation and atherosclerotic plaque formation. The study, using PWV measurements, showed a striking and unexplained predominant effect in women, aligning with known sex-specific risks in Long Covid and autoimmune disease. While further replication with diverse methods is needed, the findings underscore Covid’s long-term vascular consequences and the protective role of vaccination.
