”’Impact of Timing of Atrial Fibrillation Ablation on AF Recurrence and Clinical Outcomes in Patients With HFpEF and HFrEF”:

Using TriNetX (2010–2024), we studied HF patients with AF (after HF onset)undergoing early (≤1 yr) vs delayed (1–3 yrs) ablation, (7654 HFrEF, 3033 HFpEF ):

  • Delayed ablation was linked to higher AF recurrence in both HFpEF and HFrEF.
  • In HFrEF, delayed ablation →
    ↑ Redo ablation, ↑ DCCV , ↑ AAD use
  • HFpEF, delayed ablation →
    Redo ablation and DCCV, but↑ AAD use
  • No significant differences in:
    Stroke, HF hospitalizations, All-cause hospitalizations, Mortality between early vs delayed ablation in both groups.
