Jim Hoffman on a Unifying Therapy: Extracorporeal NET Removal for Lupus and Autoimmune Organ Injury
Jim Hoffman, Former Technical Advisor at Cygnus Technologies, LLC, posted on LinkedIn:
“Chronic dysregulated NETosis induction and inadequate NET clearance are increasingly recognized as common mechanisms of worsening disease progression, adversely impacting the performance of multiple organs, including the brain and CNS.
Case study treatments suggest specfically targeting extracorporeal removal of NETs from the blood dramatically helps reduce the severity and frequency of severe Lupus flares and very likely offers hope in protecting against various other organ injuries and improving the health of patients suffering from a diverse array of overlapping lupus-like autoimmune organ dysfunctions, including neuropsychiatric and neurodegeneration in patients who have not been officially diagnosed as having SLE but nevertheless suffer from NETosis dysregulation and share similar symptoms.
