Osama Taha on The Future of Stroke Care in Egypt: Building a Fast-Track National Stroke Network
Osama Taha, Account Manager at Philips Healthcare, shared on LinkedIn:
”On the sidelines of the 4th Egyptian International Radiology Conference (EIRC), the Ministry of Health convened a pivotal roundtable titled
“The Future of Stroke Care in Egypt: Building a Fast-Track National Stroke Network.”
This high-level dialogue brought together key Egyptian and international stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, General Health Authority, Health Insurance Organization, GAHAR, Ambulance and Emergency Services, WHO Egypt, World Stroke Organization, CIRSE (Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe), leading academic institutions, and global industry partners.
The roundtable was co-moderated by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Fawzi, Radiology Advisor to the Ministry of Health, and Elisabeth Kleipool, Global B2G Lead at Philips. Dr. Fawzi’s leadership and strategic insights were instrumental in steering a focused, outcome-driven discussion.
The conversation was highly impactful, addressing key pain points and systemic challenges in stroke care across Egypt.
Most importantly, it enabled the alignment of perspectives, the definition of priorities, and the outlining of a clear, consensus-driven roadmap aimed at strengthening stroke services nationwide.
We are proud to have partnered with Medtronic in powering this important roundtable, and we extend our sincere appreciation to Boehringer Ingelheim for their valuable contributions and perspectives.
Special thanks to Haughton, Signe, Senior Director, Medical and Government Affairs and Chief of Staff at Medtronic, for her strong support, active participation, and insightful contributions, which added significant depth and value to the discussions.
This meeting marks a significant step toward national alignment on the development of a comprehensive stroke care strategy—supporting faster intervention, stronger coordination, and ultimately, improved patient outcomes.
A detailed report will follow shortly.
Together, we are laying the foundation for a fast-track national stroke network with the potential to transform stroke care delivery across Egypt.
Special thanks to Ahmed Makhlouf for your unwavering support and for helping drive a clear, actionable roadmap for advancing stroke care in Egypt.
Special appreciation to Marc Zora and Gulsah for your leadership, continued guidance, and for driving the IGT business across MET”
