Co-creating Digital Support With Young Stroke Survivors – European Stroke Organisation

“Young stroke survivors face unique challenges. They are navigating careers, education, relationships, and reclaiming their independence, yet standard recovery resources rarely address these real-life priorities.

That is why a new research study (the ARYAS project, featured on Stroke Insights) tried a different approach: inviting young stroke survivors to help design the digital tools they actually need.

The biggest takeaways?

True support requires information that is easy to find and digest. Survivors want a mix of videos, podcasts and simple-text formats that adapt to their needs.

To put this into action, the project is collaborating directly with survivors to build a multilingual website and mobile app.

It will feature:

  • Clear, relatable videos
  • Easy-to-listen podcasts
  • Simple, readable text and speech-friendly resources
