The Thalassaemia International Federation Hosts the 2nd Cyprus National Mirror Group Meeting
Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) posted on LinkedIn:
”2nd Annual Cyprus National Mirror Group (CYNMG) Meeting
The Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) was pleased to host the 2nd Cyprus National Mirror Group (CYNMG) Meeting, held under the framework of the European Rare Disease Research Alliance (ERDERA).
What is ERDERA?
ERDERA is a European initiative that strengthens research and collaboration on rare diseases by uniting national efforts and ensuring that patient and stakeholder voices are represented at both national and European levels.
What are National Mirror Groups (NMGs)?
NMGs are the national arms of ERDERA, bringing together key actors in each country, from researchers and clinicians to patient organisations and policymakers, to align priorities and contribute to the European rare disease agenda.
This year’s meeting was highly constructive, with stakeholders across Cyprus’ rare disease community recognizing the importance of holding regular meetings to:
– exchange knowledge,
– identify shared challenges and priorities, and
– explore opportunities for collaboration.
Thanks to The Cyprus National Rare Diseases Committee, Monadika Xamogela, The Clinical Genetics and Metabolic Disorders Clinic of the Makarios III Hospital, Karaiskakio Foundation, Cyprus Federation of Patients’ Associations (CyFPA), Cyprus Alliance for Rare Disorders (CARD), and The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING) for joining and contributing to this important discussion.”
