Ali Saad Al-shammari: LAAC vs Medical Therapy for Stroke Prevention in AF
Ali Saad Al-shammari, Physician and Cardiology Researcher, shared a post on LinkedIn about recent artircle he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, adding:
“Our latest paper in Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology about LAAC vs Medical therapy for stroke prevention in AF.
LAAC and medical therapy showed similar efficacy.
We have reconstructed the Kaplan-Meier curve and performed trial sequential analysis (TSA).
TSA showed that no major outcome reached the required information size; further trials are needed.
Evidence reached only 1.62% and 0.88% of the required size for all-cause and cardiac mortality, respectively.
I hope this paper adds to the cardiology literature.”
