Ali Taher, Tenured Professor in American University of Beirut, shared a perceptive post on LinkedIn:
” Thalassemia knows no borders.
With global migration and population movement, this inherited blood disorder is now seen in ERs worldwide – often where doctors may have little experience managing it.
Our latest manuscript shines a spotlight on what emergency physicians need to know: how to recognise, assess, and treat acute thalassemia complications promptly and effectively.
Awareness can save lives.
Education is key.
Proud to work alongside colleagues and the Thalassemia International Federation (TIF) to make sure no patient is left behind, no matter where they seek care.”
