Andrew Jones: Platelet Count Is Only One Dimension of Hemostatic Function

Andrew Jones, CT resident AT Cleveland Clinic CTS Residency, shared Asaio Journal’s post on X, adding:

”Very interesting study.

Would be curious to see if there were associated changes in platelet fxn over time too.

With the associated changes in haptoglobin, suggests possible changes in coag fxn.

Plt count is important but only 1 dimension of platelets contribution to hemostasis.”

Asaio Journal shared a post on X about a recent article by Ikuko Shibasaki et al., adding:

”Adult Circulatory Support

Platelet Dynamics During Impella Use:

A Time-Series Analysis by Model and Treatment Method.”
