Advancing DIC Diagnosis in Cirrhosis Through Disease-Specific Risk Stratification – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Scarlatescu Ecaterina and Ton Lisman, adding:
”Development of a new disseminated intravascular coagulation score tailored for patients with chronic liver disease: a prospective observational study
Standard disseminated intravascular coagulation scores misfire in cirrhosis, where baseline clotting is already deranged.
This prospective study built a DIC score tailored to chronic liver disease from routinely available parameters, with strong internal performance.
A freely accessible web-based calculator could ease clinical use once the tool is validated in external cohorts.”
