We found that in men undergoing first-time elective PCI for stable CAD, baseline anemia was associated with higher 12-month risks of AKI, major bleeding, need for transfusion, hospitalization, and death, especially with recent (≤ 1 year) bleeding or transfusion history.”

‘Prognostic Impact of Baseline Anemia on Outcomes After Elective PCI in Men: A US Retrospective Cohort Study.’
In this study, we examined the prognostic impact of baseline anemia on outcomes after elective PCI in men with stable coronary artery disease.
Our analysis incorporated survival analysis, Kaplan-Meier curves, log-rank testing, univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression, propensity score matching, falsification (negative-control) endpoint analysis, E-value sensitivity analysis, and multiple-testing adjustment using Benjamini-Hochberg and Bonferroni methods.
