A Novel Strategy to Rebalance Immunity in ITP – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared on LinkedIn:
”Manipulating CD38 ectoenzymatic activity revitalizes regulatory T cells via deacetylase Sirt-1 in immune thrombocytopenia
In immune thrombocytopenia, tuning the enzymatic activity of CD38 restored regulatory T cell function through the deacetylase Sirt-1.
Working in patient cells and models, the authors show this approach rebalances immunity rather than broadly suppressing it, pointing to CD38 as a fresh therapeutic target that could explain durable responses in patients with ITP.”
