Jeffrey Chick: Venous Recanalization and Reconstruction as a Transformative Treatment

Jeffrey Chick, Division Chief and Professor of Interventional Radiology at niversity of Southern California, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Annals of Vascular Surgery:

“This study demonstrates that recanalization and venous reconstruction for symptomatic venous ligation is highly feasible and impressively effective, with excellent technical success in all treated patients. The reported patency rates and extended follow-up underscore the durability and long-term reliability of this minimally invasive strategy.

Most patients experienced significant clinical improvement, and many achieved complete symptom resolution, highlighting meaningful real-world benefit. Adverse events rates were low and manageable, reinforcing a strong overall safety profile. Overall, our research supports reconstruction as a transformative and patient-centered advance in the management of complex venous disease.”
