Risk of Thrombosis After Stopping Anticoagulation in APS With aPL Negativization -JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Claire Kelly et al., adding:
”Thrombotic Recurrence After Anticoagulation Cessation in Patients with Antiphospholipid Syndrome and Antiphospholipid Antibody Negativization: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
This systematic review and meta-analysis of 55 APS patients who discontinued anticoagulation following aPL negativization reports a pooled thrombotic recurrence rate of 1.61 per 100 person-years, suggesting that aPL negativization may warrant re-evaluation of long-term anticoagulation necessity in carefully selected low-risk patients.”
