Balancing Bleeding and Thrombosis in Lung Adenocarcinoma – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Thomas Fusillo et al. published in JTH, adding:
“Bleeding in patients with lung adenocarcinoma receiving concurrent administration of anticoagulation and VEGF or EGFR inhibitors
Clinicians often worry about combining anticoagulation with targeted cancer drugs.
In patients with lung adenocarcinoma, giving anticoagulants alongside VEGF or EGFR inhibitors was not associated with a statistically significant rise in major or clinically relevant non-major bleeding.
The data offer some reassurance for treating thrombosis in this group, though careful patient selection still applies.”
