Kaveh Mehrvar: The Gut–Brain Axis May Hold New Clues to Stroke Pathophysiology
Kaveh Mehrvar, Head of neurology Department, Assistant professor of neurology at Islamic Azad University, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in BMC Neurology, adding:
”I am delighted to share our latest publication in BMC Neurology, where I had the privilege of serving as the corresponding author.
Our study explores the relationship between gut microbiota and ischemic stroke, providing further evidence that alterations in the gut microbiome may play a role in stroke pathophysiology through the gut–brain axis.
These findings contribute to the growing understanding of the microbiome’s role in cerebrovascular diseases and may encourage future research in this rapidly evolving field.
This publication represents an important milestone in my academic journey, and I hope it contributes to a better understanding of the gut–brain axis in ischemic stroke.
I sincerely thank my co-authors for their collaboration and everyone who contributed to making this study possible.”
