Khechar N Paudel: The Nepal Stroke Project Brings Evidence-Based Stroke Care to Remote Communities
Khechar N Paudel, Senior Consultant Physician and Head of Department of Internal Medicine at Karnali Province Hospital, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Frontiers, adding:
”From a remote corner of Nepal to the international scientific literature—proud to share my first international publication, a milestone in a journey of learning, service, and research.
Our community case study from Nepal provides scientific evidence that stroke care can be built and sustained in remote, resource-limited settings when healthcare professionals, communities, and partners work together with a shared commitment to change.
Grateful to everyone who inspired and supported this work—especially Christine Tunkl for her relentless dedication and Mahesh Kumar Khanal for his constant input and guidance.
Special thanks to Frontiers for providing a platform to showcase work from one of the most remote settings in Nepal, which we hope can serve as an example for other resource-limited regions.
And my sincere gratitude to Nepal Stroke Project, Nepal Stroke Association and World Stroke Organization Future Stroke Leaders Programme — its inspiration has profoundly shaped how I think about stroke care, research, and implementation.”
