Manuel Monreal: DOACs Show Advantages Over VKAs in DVT Patients

Manuel Monreal, Coordinator of the RIETE Registry, shared a post on X about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in The European Journal of Internal Medicine, adding:

“Among DVT patients with similar eligibility for the pivotal RCTs, DOACs were associated with lower risks of recurrent VTE and major bleeding.

But no significant reduction was observed in trial-ineligible patients (around 15 percent of the total).”
