Neil Blumberg on Massive Transfusion in Trauma and Hemorrhagic Emergencies
Neil Blumberg, Professor, Director of Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank at University of Rochester Medical Center, shared on LinkedIn:
”Massive transfusion protocols and use of whole blood in trauma/hemorrhagic emergencies have become the standard of practice in many hospitals.
However, there are remaining questions about these clinical approaches that need to be answered before we know how to best care for such patients.
We address some of these issues, which would best be addressed by future research.
