Patrick Vickers: My New Contribution to Hyper Acute Stroke Nursing Research

Patrick Vickers, Staff Nurse at Oxford University Hospitals, shared on LinkedIn about his recent article, published in Journal of Research in Nursing, adding:

”I’m delighted to share that my first peer-reviewed research article has been published!

My article, ‘Reflective practice in hyper acute stroke nursing: integrating patterns of knowing and trauma theory’, explores how reflective practice, patterns of knowing, and trauma theory can help support compassionate, person-centred stroke care.

This publication was inspired by my experiences working in hyper acute stroke care and reflects my growing interest in combining clinical practice with research to improve patient care.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me, in particular the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) for funding my Masters, and to Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for providing such an inspiring clinical environment where research and evidence-based practice are encouraged.

I’m looking forward to continuing my journey within stroke research, with the aim to continue publishing my work.”
