Reem Alotaibi: Hexokinase as a Regulator of Platelet Metabolism and Function

Reem Alotaibi, Assistant Professor in Biochemistry department at King Saud University, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Platelets, adding:

“Excited to share that our latest publication, ‘Hexokinase controls platelet activation and hemostasis,’ has now been published in Platelets.

Our findings suggest that hexokinase (HK) plays an important role in platelet function and hemostasis, highlighting the close relationship between cellular metabolism and platelet biology.

I would like to sincerely thank all the co-authors/researchers who contributed to this work.

A special thank you goes to Prof. Khalid Naseem and Dr. Lih Cheah, for their invaluable insights, thoughtful discussions, and contributions throughout this project.

I look forward to continuing to explore the fascinating field of platelet metabolism and its implications for health and disease.”
