Robert Cabrera & Colleagues Developed the ELISA-Based Folate Receptor Autoantibody Assay
Robert Cabrera, Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, shared on LinkedIn:
“I (we) developed the ELISA-based folate receptor autoantibody assay in 2008 based on Rothenberg’s 2004 study on neurodevelopmental risks (NTDs).
Today, 17-21 years later, folate receptor autoantibodies were mentioned in a US Presidential press conference on autism, which included Tylenol (acetaminophen) risks, and proposed treatment with reduced folate (folinic acid, leucovorin).”
Title: Autoantibodies to folate receptor during pregnancy and neural tube defect risk
