World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) shared on LinkedIn:
”Day 1 of the WFH Global Summit on Women and Girls with Bleeding Disorders wrapped up with powerful discussions and inspiring insights!
WFH President César Garrido opened the day talking about his family’s experience with hemophilia and his hopes for WGBDs gaining better access to diagnosis, treatment and care.
The first session on multidisciplinary care explored how comprehensive approaches can improve health outcomes, with women sharing personal experiences of accessing care.
The unknown impact of iron deficiency highlighted how anemia often goes unnoticed yet can seriously affect quality of life, and speakers shared prevention and management strategies.
In How to become your own advocate, participants learned practical tools and strategies to use data, share their stories, and achieve better care.
And finally, the session on Bleeding disorders of unknown cause (BDUC) shed light on the challenges of navigating care without a diagnosis, highlighting the emotional toll and the importance of advocacy.
A strong start to the Summit full of learning, empowerment, and community.
Watch all the sessions from day 1 and join us tomorrow for day 2 here.”
