Anirban Sen Gupta and Andrew Shoffstall Collaboration on Bioinspired Synthetic Platelet Systems for Brain Injury Treatment
Anirban Sen Gupta, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, shared on LinkedIn:
”Thrilled to share a great collaboration story in Nature Portfolio Nature Communications led by Andrew Shoffstall lab at Case Western Reserve University Department of Biomedical Engineering, Case School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, Haima Therapeutics and Sen Gupta Lab on utilizing bioinspired Synthetic Platelet systems as a drug delivery platform to treat brain injury associated inflammation (in this case injury stems from microelectrode implants in the brain).
The Synthetic Platelet systems remain customizable for delivering a variety of drug cargos to various pathologies that have mechanistic involvement of platelets (thrombosis, inflammation, immune response, malignancy etc.).
Grateful to Andrew for the opportunity to collaborate and looking forward to continued RandD in this direction!”
