Raul Santos Gave 2 Talks at SAC 2025: On The Role of LDL-C and Future of Lipid-lowering Therapies
Raul Santos, Researcher at ARO Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, shared on LinkedIn:
”I had the privilege of giving two talks at the Argentinian Society of Cardiology (SAC) congress in Buenos Aires.
The first talk focused on the role of LDL-C in atherosclerosis, presenting overwhelming data and evidence to support this understanding.
It was great to work with Drs. Melina Huerin and Walter Masson on this.
The second talk explored the future of lipid-lowering therapies, highlighting the role of genetics in paving the way for newer therapies targeting LDL, triglycerides, and Lp(a).
Additionally, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Pablo Corral on a meeting with colleagues from the Argentinian Lipid Society (SAL).
During this meeting, we discussed the current challenges in reducing the burden of ASCVD and explored potential actions to address the residual risk associated with various factors, including LDL-C, Lp(a), triglycerides, inflammation, obesity, and thrombosis.
Many good things will come in the near future.
I’d like to thank SAC and Novartis Argentina for the opportunity.”
