WFH Advocates for Hemophilia Care Access at WHO EMRO Meeting in Cairo
World Federation of Hemophilia / Fédération mondiale de l’hémophilie posted on LinkedIn:
”During the 72nd Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean in Cairo, Egypt, WFH Regional Manager Rana Saifi delivered a statement advocating for the inclusion of hemophilia and other Bleeding Disorders in the WHO EMRO flagship initiative to expand access to quality medical products in the region.
This aligns with the recent WHO 2025 Essential Medicines List updates, a critical step forward that requires concrete regional and national action to ensure access to lifesaving treatments.
Saifi also voiced WFH’s strong support for a WHA resolution on Global Action to Advance Health Equity for People with Hemophilia and Other Inherited Bleeding Disorders, proposed for discussion at the 158th session of the WHO Executive Board and backed by several Member States including Armenia, Morocco, with support from Egypt, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
