”I’m extremely proud to be amongst platelet royalty and have just published a chapter on the differences between neonatal vs adult platelets for this highly educational new book.
More functional and immunological testing and research is needed in platelets directly collected from neonates (instead of cord blood) to ensure less and safer transfusions.
Not all platelets are the same, or even beneficial especially for the tiniest patients and less is more.
