”On November 13 and 14, 2025, I had the great opportunity to attend the WFH Global Forum in Montreal, Canada.
It was a unique meeting where high-level science, everyday clinical management, and social programs were presented as parts of a tightly interlinked network of competence and knowledge, providing a solid foundation for the path toward improved care for bleeding disorders.
I had the privilege of being part of the organizing committee, and I feel proud of the final outcome. Thanks to all the colleagues and experts who agreed to be part of this effort.
Discussions ranged from safety (and the need for continuous surveillance) to gene editing, always keeping in mind that nobody should be left behind.
We therefore addressed women and girls with bleeding disorders, how to apply what we have learned from hemophilia to VWD (including prophylaxis for all who bleed), and the possibility of using novel therapies such as rebalancing agents in other rare bleeding disorders.
It was a thought-provoking meeting where not all answers were available, but there was a clear, shared commitment to improving patient care.”
