Dr Aaron Akpu Philip on the Front Lines: Supporting the National Blood Drive with Lifeblood and AIMA
Dr Aaron Akpu Philip, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“THE BLOOD DRIVE
Today I was part of the team that went out for the National Australian Red Cross Lifeblood + Australian Islamic Medical Association – AIMA blood drive.

Together with incredible colleagues Ian J. and Madeline Horton, we were stationed at the Kuraby Mosque in Brisbane.
As a researcher working in the Population Health, Donor Research and Cellular Therapies team at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, our research allows me to conduct research with donors, non-donors and potential blood donors so it was refreshing being out in the field on this blood drive.
It took me down memory lane of the many times I have been out for community outreaches while working/volunteering in Nigeria and the UK on Health, HIV and Governance projects.
Today we went all out for the blood cause.
Congratulations to Australian Islamic Medical Association – AIMA for making today worthwhile.
