Matías J Alet on CABOS Project with The Support of WSO
Matías J Alet, Member of Education Committee of World Stroke Organization, shared on LinkedIn:
”Over the past days in Cochabamba, Bolivia, we conducted an on-site field visit as part of the project CABOS, a regional stroke-care improvement effort led by ALATAC and SIECV, with the support of the World Stroke Organization and the Angels Initiative.
The goal of this visit was essential: to understand the real-world context where stroke care happens.
We spent time with physicians, nurses, emergency teams and hospital leadership, walking through the clinical pathways, reviewing available infrastructure, and discussing everyday operational challenges.
This allowed us to identify existing strengths to build on, key gaps in stroke care delivery that limit timely and effective treatment and practical opportunities to improve workflows, training, and coordination across the local network.
This field-based assessment is the foundation for the next steps of the project: developing a structured improvement plan to strengthen stroke systems of care in Cochabamba, and then expand the model to other regions of Bolivia.
Thank you to the local teams for the openness, time, and commitment. ustainable change is built with collaboration, shared goals, and consistent follow-through.”
