Gyan Barik on Wellumio’s IFAIR Perfusion Technology US Patent Gain
Gyan Barik, Executive Director at Wellumio, reposted from Wellumio on LinkedIn:
”Wellumio is proud to announce the granting of US Patent 12,495,983 B2 by the United States Patent Office for our innovative IFAIR perfusion technology.
This advancement equips clinicians with critical insights for stroke care, such as identifying salvageable brain tissue and guiding urgent treatment decisions.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our IP team for this achievement, marking a strong close to the year.”
Quoting Wellumio‘s post:
”US patent granted!
Thrilled to share the U.S. Patent Office granted US 12,495,983 B2 for our IFAIR perfusion technology.
IFAIR is an ASL-style tagging technique adapted for inhomogeneous magnetic fields.
In plain English, we measure brain blood flow without contrast agents or conventional MRI hardware.
IFAIR is the first ASL-like approach built for Pulsed Gradient-Free Mapping, enabling real-time, repeatable perfusion on a 0.1T device.
With IFAIR, Axana becomes the only portable scanner to deliver both diffusion and contrast-free perfusion at the bedside.
Pairing perfusion with diffusion at the bedside helps doctors answer urgent questions in stroke care, like ‘Is there still brain tissue that can be saved?’ and ‘How quickly should we move the patient for treatment?’
Huge thanks to our IP team. Great way to wrap up the year!”
