Hossam El Benawi on Mayo Clinic Study on LVT Featured in the Letter to the Editor at Jagiellonian University
Hossam El Benawi, Senior Clinical Research Fellow of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic, shared on LinkedIn:
”Proud to see our Mayo Clinic study on Left Ventricular Thrombus (LVT) featured in a recent Letter to the Editor by our colleagues at Department of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Interventions , Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland:
……Elbenawi et al. introduce an intriguing hypothesis regarding the use of a loading dose for DOACs, noting that early embolic events in their DOAC cohort occurred exclusively in patients who did not receive one.
This observation is particularly relevant given that the highest risk for embolization is in the initial weeks following LVT diagnosis and warrants investigation in future prospective trials.
