Anna Randi Shares the Latest Episode of The VWF and Angiogenesis Story from Her Lab
Anna Randi, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Imperial College London, shared on LinkedIn:
”Delighted to share the latest episode of the VWF and angiogenesis story from my lab Vascular Section – NHLI, Imperial College London.
Finally, experimental evidence that Angiopoietin2 inhibition could benefit VWD patients with GI bleeding and angiodysplasia.
This was true teamwork: thank you to the excellent members of my team at Imperial, particularly Adela Constantinescu-Bercu and Koval Smith, PhD, and a fantastic network of collaborators (Marco Rasponi, Petrova Lab – Vascular and tumor biology, Suthesh Sivapalaratnam).
A special thanks to the VWD patients who generously donated their blood to advance research.
Thank you to the Medical Research Council, the British Heart Foundation, the Rosetrees trust and the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) Imperial BRC.
Thank you to Barbara Bianchi Bonomi for the recent generous award, highlighting the relevance of this research to patients with VWD.
A hugely satisfying project with real life impact.”
